He had promised that no one would be out this late, and on a Saturday no less All the businesses were closed, and no one would be returning until Monday. No emergency would bring someone back at this hour.  She had been anxious, but she knew better that to protest as she was sent off into the night.

She panicked when she saw the headlights. The change in her posture was drastic as here eyes widened and her spine stiffened, but she kept walking, kept slow. This was more than just a punishment this was a test of trust.

And she had passed, he grinned as he got out of his car and walked toward her.  Slow and steady, just as he was. Though he could see a spring in her step now, an new kind of anxiety as she anticipated their meeting.  Her punishment was far from complete, but she knew that each step brought her closer to forgiveness.
